There is something about the formality of a museum’s space—something that transforms objects and assigns a certain value.  These objects, personal expressions, and their creators have been chosen to pass through the portal of history.  Once “in the collection,” and unlike almost any other object produced by mankind, they will likely be maintained for perpetuity.  It’s really quite incredible the more you think about it.

Beyond the weight of that judgement, there is also something compelling about photographing in these spaces—where, like so many—I would love for my work to be.  The stillness can make it an almost meditative experience that has me turning, sometimes tumbling, inward.
